Vilaca Racing’s Time Attack Series is South Africa’s premier platform is for any car enthusiasts who crave the thrill of competition in a safe, controlled environment. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, this is where drivers and machines unite to chase the ultimate prize—time itself.
This isn’t your average track day. Time Attack is a non-wheel-to-wheel racing format where every second counts. Drivers battle the clock on some of the country’s most iconic circuits, testing their skill and their car’s performance to find the perfect balance of speed and precision.
From road cars to fully built track monsters, our series welcomes all makes, models, and setups. Turbocharged? Naturally aspirated? All-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive? There’s a class for you. We’ve crafted competitive categories to ensure everyone has a chance to shine, whether you’re rolling in with mild mods or a fully tuned race machine.
But it’s not just about the lap times—it’s about the experience. The Vilaca Racing community is fueled by passion, camaraderie, and a shared love for pushing boundaries. “WHAT IS TIME ATTACK?”
Time Attack is a motorsport event where drivers compete against the clock to achieve the fastest lap time on a racetrack. Unlike traditional racing, where multiple cars race against each other simultaneously, Time Attack focuses on individual lap times. This format allows drivers to push their cars to the limit without the risk of collision, emphasizing precision, skill, and vehicle performance
“WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER?”
Age: You need to be older than 18.
License:Have a valid driver’s license.
Safety Gear: Have a helmet in good condition.
Registration: Enter on the Vilaca Racing website.
Guidelines: All the guidelines are listed on the Vilaca Racing website.
“ARE THERE OTHER CARS ON TRACK?”
Yes, the cars are spaced out on the circuit, and there are strict protocols on overtaking, with specific areas where it is allowed. This ensures safety and minimizes the risk of collisions.
“WHERE DO YOU RACE?”
The Vilaca Racing Time Attack Championship hosts events predominantly in Gauteng. The series uses main circuits like Zwartkops and Red Star Raceway but also incorporates karting circuits like Formula-K SA.
