Jonathan Vilaca, the Owner & Founder of Vilaca Racing has always had an interest in and passion for motorsport from a young age.

Jonathan started racing go-karts at the age of 7 and competed in various forms of motorsport until the age of 17.
Jonathan won multiple South African karting championships throughout his professional career and has been awarded full MSA Motorsport colours. Jonathan was also a Red Bull Athlete.

Jonathan also pursued his academic studies after high school where he studied and completed his mechanical engineering degree.
Jonathan has also competed in various amateur racing events in 2018 and 2019.

Vilaca Racing started in 2018 as an aftermarket car part manufacturing supplier. With Jonathans racing experience and engineering degree, he designed and manufactured components for racecars that had not been developed yet or available in the market.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, Vilaca Racing hosted its first Time Attack event to re-energize the market, however after the event was such a success with everyone involved and the need for such a revolutionary way of running a Time Attack series, the Vilaca Racing brand changed from being a parts manufacture to the start of South Africa’s biggest and best Time Attack Series.
